Artist's Statement

My work is in the tradition of the satirical print. My goal is to portray the absurdities that exist in the world around me in both my personal sphere and the greater world of mass culture and politics. Rather than adopt a more traditional approach to satire, i.e. Daumier's style, I choose to use a slightly skewed Northern Renaissance Style. My favorite artists are Bosch, Breugel, Hans Bauldung Grien, Dürer, and Rogier Van Weyden. I am also a big fan of the German Expressionists Otto Dix and Max Beckman.

Web Design

I've been making web pages since 1995. At first it started merely as a practical way to get the work we were doing for MoonRock Software available to the masses. The more I researched the topic and got into digital image creation, the more I have become attracted to web design as a career.

My Studio Space (2000-2007)

Here are some pictures of my workspace from about 2000-2007, which was just a corner in my apartment. I work primarily as a woodcut printmaker. Of all the printmaking processes, woodcuts (relief prints in wood) are perhaps the least toxic. This means I can get away with doing my work in the confined space of an apartment. The process also requires very little in terms of equipment. A knife, wood, paper, an ink roller and ink are the only supplies one needs.
